BIOS is a program built into the motherboard. It is stored in a special chip and connects the motherboard and all the components that connect to it.
The question of whether to update the BIOS may arise not only for novice users. Even more advanced users may have this question. Despite the fact that they are not the first year at the computer they have never had to update the BIOS. This is due to the fact that BIOS is interrogated really by necessity or in other words – rarely. It’s not like with Windows, it started to slow down something or did not work stably, then quickly reinstalled it and solved the problem.
With BIOS, everything is different, it can work stably even if it is 2013, and the last update was carried out in 2007. This is an example of the BIOS on my computer. That is why the question of whether to update the BIOS, I answer NO.
If there are no global changes in the new firmware versions for the BIOS of your motherboard, such as fixing serious or even critical errors, then updating the BIOS is not necessary. Continue reading
