How to open ISO, MDF, MDS file
How to open an ISO file? How to open a mdf file? What program to open the ISO file? And a bunch of other similar questions arise daily in hundreds of users. Let’s first understand what these formats are iso, mdf, mds? Well, firstly, it’s worth saying that this is a disk image format.
For example, there is a disk that we insert into the drive and a special program creates a copy of it on the computer, or rather, it is like a mirror image. It turns out that when creating a disk image in a format, for example, ISO, it becomes the same disk in us, only it is opened not by a physical drive, but by a virtual one which is created using a special program for opening images in iso, mdf, mds and so on. This drive looks like a regular one, it is also assigned a special letter, but it is virtual and only opens disk images.
So with the help, what program to open the ISO file and other formats? There are many programs for such tasks. One of these is called Daemon Tools. We will use it. With this program, you can open mds, iso, mdf and other similar formats. In a word, open and create images, add up to four virtual drives in the free version.
There is no point in detailing here, since I did all this for a long time in other lessons. In one lesson, we looked at installing Daemon Tools: “How to Install Daemon Tools”, in another lesson I talked about how to add and remove virtual drives: “Creating and removing virtual drives in Damon Tools”, and another lesson was about creating images in Damon Tools: “How to create a disk image in Daemon Tools.”
When we have Damon Tools installed, we can easily open any disk image. Suppose we need to open an ISO file. To do this, left-click once on the program icon in the Notification Panel and in the list that appears, click on the virtual drive.
In the window that opens on your computer, indicate the place where the image lies, and click “Open.”
The image is mounted in a virtual drive.
If you have autorun disks enabled, then after mounting you will start this disk, just as they would start in a real drive. If autorun is disabled, you can open this drive after mounting by going to My Computer.
A virtual drive with an open ISO file or other formats will be next to a regular physical drive.
In this way, you can open the ISO file, the MDF file, the MDS file, and so on. But most often, disk images are found in ISO. Well, I’m finishing this, I hope, to the question of how to open the disk image, I completely answered.
Bye, Good luck and successful discovery of disk images!
