What version of Windows to choose for a netbook?
If you bought yourself a netbook, but the operating system is not installed on it, then, of course, the first question that arises is: what version of Windows should I choose for my brand new netbook? And how to install it? Indeed, on such compact devices as netbooks, there are no drives, and I don’t want to buy external drives just for the sake of installing the system.
In fact, the answer to the second question is very simple, you need to create a bootable USB flash drive with Windows. And install the system from it. My big lesson is devoted to this subject: “How to install Windows 7 from a flash drive? Creating a bootable flash drive. “
And for those who bought a netbook, and the system is already installed there, I would recommend leaving it. Why take a steam bath with reinstallation in vain, especially since it was installed taking into account performance, and it will work well.
And which version of Windows should I choose for those who bought a bare netbook, and there is no system on it yet? I would recommend choosing Windows 7, in my opinion the most correct solution. On all my computers (desktop and laptop), Windows 7 is installed. If I had a netbook, I would also install Seven on it. The benefit of the performance of modern netbooks is quietly enough for Windows 7, even the maximum edition.
Why install Windows 7 on a laptop? I will write more about this later!
In general, today I divide Windows into three categories: modern, obsolete, and very prehistoric.
We will not talk about the third category, since these versions of Windows can hardly be found today, except on very old dusty computers. Windows 95 and others are the last century.
For the second category, I include Windows XP and Windows Vista. The first one is really outdated, and it seems to me useless to install it on a brand new netbook. Just think, because it was released more than 10 years ago. Next is Windows Vista. Although it is not very old, it is not recommended by me at all, and on the Internet there are mostly bad reviews. Most programs do not go with it, in general, raw Vista turned out. I never installed it, and I’m not going to.
Windows XP and Windows Vista
And the first category is Windows 7 and Windows 8. I can’t say much about the Eight, as I’m just starting to master it, but the Seven is what we need. Today is one of the most used versions of Windows. On the netbook, I recommend installing Windows 7, it is more stable than XP or Vista, beautiful, convenient, and so on.
So my answer to the question which version of Windows to choose for a netbook sounds exactly like this: Windows 7.
