Bit depth is the ability of a processor to simultaneously process a certain number of bits. In this case, this definition is written in the simplest words, since if you go into the scientific nuances, then unfortunately, it will be difficult to understand something.
Today, Windows can only be two bits wide: 32-bit, and 64-bit. And if you see a description somewhere on the site, say Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit, then keep in mind that this version is equivalent to x86, and Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit is x64.
